Today I'm going to show you how to make Tassels without any fancy Tassel makers or having to buy them.
All you need are these few simple supplies.
Things you will need:
Yarn/Pearl Cotton/Embroidery thread
Or just plain thread
Scissors
Jump ring, metal or plastic
(or any type of ring)
All of the supplies
Tutorial
Unwind some of your string and take the loose end of your it and wrap it around your hand or any other object such as a cell phone, it depends upon how big of a Tassel you want. (we will be folding it in half)
I wrapped it around about 12 times. The more times you wrap, the thicker your tassel will be.
Cut your string about 2 inches away from where you ended wrapping.
At this point, you can cut off a piece of yarn that is about 13 inches long.
Slide the yarn off whatever object you have it on, don't worry about the extra ends they will become part of your tassel.
Pinch one side of the loop and slide it through your jump ring.
Slide the ring to the halfway point
and fold in half.
Pinch your strands and take the 13-inch piece of string you already cut and wrap it around your loop, leaving some space at each end.
Tie your ends together 2-3 times then let them become part of your tassel, don't trim them.
Cut all the loops.
Then trim your ends until they all line up.
You're Done!
And there you have it. A beautiful tassel made easily and quickly with supplies you probably have around your house!
I also made some tassels out of thread and used metal jump rings to attach them to earrings.
Hope you enjoy making these as much as I did!
